Serious EatsA Chefs' Guide to Eating Out In Washington, DC
- As printed My new favorite late-night restaurant is Anju, a modern Korean restaurant near Dupont Circle. It’s from the Fried Rice Collective, a restaurant group run by Danny Lee, Scott Drewno, and Drew Kim. Everything they do is absolutely delicious. One of the famous things at Anju is a dish consisting of fried potatoes with salad and citrus aioli. But my favorite is the kimchi slaw dog—a late-night hot dog works for everyone—with gochujang, hot mustard, and slaw made with incredible house-made kimchi, which uses a family recipe and is fermented for 100 days. The fried chicken is great, too: it’s crispy, and it comes with creamy white BBQ sauce and spicy Korean BBQ sauce, both made in-house. Washington City PaperAnju Partners With Annandale Bakery to Bring Korean Pastries to the District
- As printed D.C. has seen an influx of Asian cuisines in recent years with Lao, Filipino, Malaysian, and Burmese spots opening across the city. But somewhat paradoxically, one of the region’s largest Asian communities’ cuisines has yet to make major headway within city limits. Most of the area’s Korean cooking still requires a trip out to the suburbs, but Chef Danny Lee of Mandu , CHIKO , and Anju has been on a steady mission to introduce new aspects of Korean food to Washingtonians. He did that with bar snacks at his latest venture, Anju. Now he and his Anju team are turning their attention to Korean pastry by launching a collaboration with Annandale-based bakery O Bread .Published by the company · confirmed Oct 1, 2026, 5:06 PM UTC

In years past, the Line DC hotel in Adams Morgan was home to marquee restaurants from top chefs such as Woodberry Kitchen’s Spike Gjerde and Maketto’s Erik Bruner-Yang. RESY: How to Get Into Anju Oct 27, 2025
Admin Admin
Hear the name Anju, and many people’s first thoughts will float to Korean bar snacks. Pan-tossed pork-and-kimchi mandu with blistered skins and juicy centers. Crisp Korean fried chicken whose juices run with its gochujang glaze at first bite. Tender beef tartare, punctuated by lotus crisps for a compelling crunch.

Tasting Table: 20 Romantic Restaurants In Washington DC For Date Night Nov 16, 2023
Admin Admin
When dining out in Washington D.C., you can find pretty much any global cuisine you crave. What's harder to locate is a restaurant that meets a specific environment for a date night. On or off the apps, dating is hard. And once you've made it past the swipe, narrowing down a special place to take a special someone can feel just as daunting. That's why simply lowering the lights isn't enough to call a restaurant "romantic" anymore. Similarly, if date night is your evening to escape f… (truncated)

Washingtonian: Food Critic’s Picks: 11 Special Brunch Spots for Mother’s Day 2023 Apr 28, 2023
Admin Admin
We named Danny Lee and Scott Drewno’s Dupont Korean spot DC’s #1 restaurant back in 2020, and the place is still killing it. The offerings here lean more savory—there’s a lone milk-bread French toast, but not much else if Mom is into sweet and carb-laden. My favorites are the grilled, marinated shortrib with eggs and the hefty kimchi burger on a pretzel bun.
